Players manage resources, expand territory on a modular dual-layer board, and resolve hidden events that alter the landscape and present difficult strategic choices. Each civilization has unique abilities that shape play and unlock new actions over time—Build, Research, Agriculture, Gather and Trade, and Warfare—while exploration and dicelective events drive tension. Scoring depends on accumulated victory points; the rise of the Hanging Gardens signals the game’s end.
