Shadows of Brimstone: Forbidden Fortress

Ein kooperativer Dungeon-Crawler im feudalen Japan, in dem eine Gruppe von Helden gegen einfallende Dämonen, Geister und monströse Yokai in einer verderbten Festung und im fremdartigen Inneren eines lebenden Ungetüms antritt. Spieler wählen unterschiedliche Charakterklassen — Samurai, Ninja, Yamabushi-Mönch oder Zauberin — und entwickeln ihre Helden über eine Kampagne hinweg weiter, indem sie zwischen den Missionen Ausrüstung, Fähigkeiten und Erfahrung sammeln, während sie sich in einem Dorf neu ausstatten und auf die nächste Expedition vorbereiten. Das Gameplay nutzt dynamisch erzeugte Kartenteile und szenariobasierte Missionen und schickt die Spieler gegen Wellen thematisch passender Gegner (Oni, Tengu, untote Samurai, tentakelbewehrte Schrecken und große Bossmonster), während Kampf, Erkundung und Ereignisse mit Karten, Würfeln und Markern abgehandelt werden.

    Amazing sandbox game mixing Feudal Japan and supernatural horror. This improves on the original core sets with more complex tiles presenting barriers on them. PROS - Incredibly cinematic. It's dripping theme in every single card. With a tiny bit of imagination, playing SoB is like watching a movie in which you can take decisions. - The possibilities are literally endless. Hundreds of different missions, enemies, items, chart results... you will never see everything this game has to offer. - Magnificent for solo play. The game never stops surprising you, and almost any situation you can think of can happen in it. CONS - Its footprint is HUGE. Literally impossible to play on normal tables, apart from storing all the boxes, etc. - It is a dice festival. If you don't like rolling dice, avoid this game at all costs.
