Artus

Players jockey knights, princes and neutral figures around a rotating round table to claim high-scoring seats relative to the crown space. Each turn, a player plays two cards from a hand of six (two knights, two royalty, two scoring) to place or move figures, score areas or individual pieces, and add rings to neutral figures. The neutral figure with three rings becomes the king and the table reorients to put that figure at the crown, shifting all seating values; kings can change during the game. Play proceeds for eleven rounds and the player with the most points wins. The game includes a basic rule set and a more complex “professional” rule set.

This is a very chaotic game that plays like a spacial reasoning puzzle. It didn't work well with 2 players, and I can only seeing it get more chaotic with more. In this game you get three piles of cards. Over the course of the game you draw the cards and have to eventually play all cards. You get pawns around a rotating wheel that generate you either positive or negative points depending on where they finish their move, or in the case of neutral pawns, start their move. I would have liked it better if you had your pick of all the cards at the start and had to budget. :star: Art, Iconography and components functional :star: Clever or interesting mechanisms :star: Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players :nostar: Multiple plays stay interesting :nostar: Low or mitigatable luck elements :nostar::nostar::nostar::nostar::nostar: Raw enjoyment
