Senators

Players lead rival Roman factions vying for control of the Senate during the late Republic. Gameplay revolves around acquiring and trading resource cards through multiple auction formats, extorting cards from opponents, and selling sets to raise cash. Money funds war efforts, pays for aggressive bids, and buys additional Senators, who determine victory when the fourth war triggers the game end. Each turn begins with an event card and offers three actions: open an auction, extort from another player, or cash in sets and purchase Senators. The game uses a mix of open, blind, Dutch, and shotgun-style bidding, producing constant negotiation and tactical bidding decisions alongside longer-term choices about which Senators to collect and when to cash out.
