6: Siege – The Board Game

Due squadre composte da cinque operatori specializzati si affrontano in scontri asimmetrici basati su obiettivi. I giocatori scelgono di giocare tutti come attaccanti o tutti come difensori e schierano operatori dotati di gadget e abilità distintive. Gli attaccanti sfondano le pareti, rimuovono gli ostacoli e avanzano verso gli obiettivi della missione usando esplosivi e strumenti; i difensori fortificano le posizioni, piazzano trappole e impediscono l’accesso per proteggere i propri obiettivi. Il gioco utilizza un flusso che simula il tempo reale e una pianificazione tattica: le squadre coordinano i movimenti, sfruttano la linea di vista e risolvono gli scontri per completare gli obiettivi o eliminare la squadra avversaria.

Two things can be true. Mythic Games, ran a terrible business model, they are not to be trusted if they ever return in any way after their liquidation and what not. I count myself fortunate that I received my KS pledge a while back. Their review would be a 0/10. That said...the designers did an absolute phenomenal job translating the style of tension found in the video game to the board game medium. The gameplay is snappy and full of suspense. Much like the game, you can be easily punished for poor positioning and other mistakes. Also, like the video game though, it is entirely possible to bring a round back from what appeared to be an unwinnable position completely off skill and tactical play. The designer has to be acknowledged for the incredible job they've done here.
