Le Hobbit: Histoire d'un Aller et Retour

Players compete to make the most rewarding journey to The Lonely Mountain by drafting dice, marking routes, and fulfilling chapter objectives. Each round a player rolls all dice and players take turns selecting one die each; chosen dice let players draw paths, collect resources, and trigger actions on their personal adventure book boards. Players navigate iconic challenges—evading trolls, battling goblins and spiders, crossing dangerous terrain, reclaiming treasure, and confronting the dragon—by drawing solutions with a dry-erase pen to complete chapter goals. The game supports solo play and optional difficulty adjustments to scale challenge or balance skill levels.

Questions de règles

Réponses tirées du livret par l'assistant de règles de Ludoya.

Can I rotate or mirror a path die when I place it, and what's the difference between connecting a path and entering a space?

You may rotate or mirror path dice when placing them; rotating/mirroring changes which edges connect. "Connecting" means path edges line up to continue a route, while "entering" means the path actually goes into a specific space rather than merely touching it (see page 5).

How does dice drafting and turn order work — do I pick multiple dice each round and what are path-action dice?

Players draft dice in turn order from the pool, picking dice one at a time according to the drafting procedure, and then use those dice on their turn; path-action dice are the dice you place to draw path segments on the map (see page 4).

How do I gain, mark, and move bread?

You gain and mark bread as specified by actions and events and track it on your map where required (marking rules shown on page 6); certain scenarios include explicit bread-movement rules that move or consume bread during the adventure (see pages 20 and 22).

How do swords work — how do I collect them and how do they affect scoring or fights?

Swords are collected and marked as a resource following the acquisition rules, and they are used for combat checks and can affect end-of-adventure scoring as detailed in scenario scoring steps (see pages 6 and 9).

What is the black die, and when is it ignored or rolled privately?

The black die represents special threats/events and is used or modified by scenario rules; some scenarios ignore or alter the black die (for example Mirkwood ignores it) and some actions call for private black-die rolls for hidden checks (see pages 11, 19, 27, and 30).

What does the Burglar action do, and how do guests like Dwarves, Thorin, or Gandalf affect play and scoring?

The Burglar action grants specific special moves and options described under burglar actions, and guests have their own placement, handling, and scoring rules—follow the burglar-action rules and guest rules for placement and end-of-adventure scoring (see pages 7 and 9).
