在15世纪的佛罗伦萨，彼此竞争的商人家族争相组建价值不菲的商品货船。 每回合，玩家使用数量有限的竞价筹码，竞拍一组组翻开的商品牌；出价最高者拿走翻开的牌，并将其装入自己的船只。每轮在所有玩家的船只都装满，或商品牌堆耗尽时结束。计分时，玩家可凭借对各类商品的多数控制权，以及总价值最高的货物获得分数。游戏共进行三个计分轮次，并通过直观的拍卖机制适配不同玩家人数。
