Star Wars: La Bataille de Hoth

Imperial forces assault a Rebel base on an icy planet in a tabletop miniatures battle. Players command units using a card-driven Command and Colors system, selecting command cards each turn to activate formations, move figures, and resolve attacks across varied terrain. The box includes seventeen scenarios that recreate different phases of the engagement, plus optional leader cards that introduce six iconic characters with special abilities. Two linked campaigns allow results to carry over between battles, shaping future scenarios and strategic choices.

Nice game, but very luck dependant, map beeing smaller and units with high range provokes many combat. Infantry can be damage with a 50% chance on die roll. Dont like to have so many events cards. Is the simplier version of the C&C system, perfect for people who wants something quick and simple. Also perfect for start with kids.

Questions de règles

Réponses tirées du livret par l'assistant de règles de Ludoya.

When do I draw a Command Card?

You draw a new Command Card as the last step of your turn: after resolving all attacks, hits and retreats you discard the card you played and draw one (reshuffle discard into deck if empty). (Rulebook p.4, p.7).

If a hex has a red dotted line through it, can I order that unit from either section?

Yes — a unit on a hex cut by a red dotted line may be ordered from either section when you play a Section card. (Rulebook p.4).

If I move a unit, can it still attack this turn?

It depends on the unit and how far it moved: for example, infantry can move 1 hex and still attack (moving 2 prevents attacking), and a snowspeeder can move up to 3 hexes and still attack; check unit stats for each type. (Rulebook p.5).

What do retreat icons do and what if a unit can’t retreat?

Each retreat icon forces the targeted unit to retreat one hex toward its baseline (player chooses legal hex), terrain generally doesn’t stop retreat except impassable hexes, and if a unit cannot complete a required retreat it suffers one casualty for each uncompleted retreat move. (Rulebook p.7).

How does line of sight and terrain affect whether I can attack and how many dice I roll?

You must have an unblocked line drawn between hex centers—units or terrain that intercept that line block fire—and terrain protections/penalties reduce the number of attack dice rolled; special edge and ridge cases are detailed in the rules. (Rulebook p.6, p.12).

What do the different attack dice symbols mean?

Infantry icons score hits vs. infantry, vehicle icons score hits vs. vehicles, blast icons score a hit on any unit type, and the cross is a miss; hits remove miniatures and excess hits beyond a unit’s miniatures have no effect. (Rulebook p.7, p.6).
