Players take the role of leaders of distinct alien races, each with a unique power that changes how they interact with the game. On a turn, the active player launches an encounter by sending ships to another player’s planet; both attacker and defender may recruit allies and play cards to influence the outcome. Battles resolve by comparing forces and card plays, while special race abilities can alter rules, outcomes, or negotiation dynamics. The objective is to establish colonies on other players’ planets; the first player (or players, when alliances succeed) to reach the required number of foreign colonies wins. Gameplay emphasizes negotiation, shifting alliances, tactical card play, and asymmetric powers.
