What a fantastic game! I wish I had discovered it sooner. I've never played it multiplayer, so I'm not sure how well it would work in that setting, but I have a feeling that it is not too dissimilar to the solo experience. This game shines as a solo game for sure. The bot mimics quite well the experience of working to each civilization way of playing and provides a great adjustable challenge. There are a ton of civilizations: some of them are not as effective as others to win, so some testing is required to find the opponent you enjoy the most playing against. For me, so far, it has been the Magyar. I have nothing bad to say about this game. Perhaps the only thing that I will need to tweak is game length. I feel it's a little bit on the too long side. It would benefit from finishing a tad earlier. Edit: Now that I've played multi, it takes far too long. I only enjoy the game in solo. Replayability is absolutely great! And I've only uncovered the Horizons box. There are two other boxes to mix civilizations with that Horizons adapts with a new set of cards to replace the ones that don't apply anymore. For solo play, I found the commerce cards to be much more fun than the combat ones. The commerce expansion really makes the game shine brighter, even though the base game without it is still fantastic. It's a good idea no to use the expansion cards until you have 2-4 plays with the base game, as it adds complexity. I also appreciate greatly that they've added more bizarre and strange civs to play with which have completely different mechanics like the Martians or the Cultists. I'm very eager to try them out once I have more plays under my belt. It's a 10 game for me. For around 50€ it provides a huge amount of replayability and fun. The more satisfying strategy deck builder I've ever played.

I rated both Classics and Legends a 9, but I'm giving this one a 9.5. The added civilizations, components, and refinements really elevate the experience. The civilizations are even crunchier and more challenging to score high with, which adds depth and excellent replay value. When I Exhaust a card, is it used up for the whole game or just until my next turn?

Exhaust places a State token on the card and is only used on your Activate turn; those State tokens are removed during Clean‑up so the card is available again on later turns (see page 15).

If I don't have any State or set‑aside tokens left, can I still take Actions or use Exhaust abilities?

To take an Action you must set aside an Action token from your State card, and you need State tokens on your State card to use Exhaust abilities—if you have none you may not take that Action or use Exhausts (see pages 14–15).

Can I use Exhaust abilities during Solstice, Innovate, or Revolt turns?

No—Exhaust abilities can only be used on your own Activate turn and may never be used during Solstice or during an Innovate or Revolt turn, unless a card explicitly says otherwise (see page 15 and Solstice on page 16).

When I reshuffle my Draw deck, do I always add a Nation or Development card to my discard?

You add a Nation or Development card during a reshuffle only if you have an available Reshuffle token and at least one card in your Nation deck or Development area; if you don’t meet those conditions you skip those steps and just shuffle your discard (see page 16).

Do I have to discard down to my hand size at the end of my turn?

No—you may discard any number of cards during Clean‑up, but you are never forced to discard down to your hand size (see page 15).

Can I pay a cost on a card even if the rest of its effect can't be resolved?

Yes—anything before “to” is a cost and you may pay a cost even if the effect cannot be fully resolved; if you pay the cost you must then resolve the result as much as possible (see page 14).
