Munchkin

Players play caricatured adventurers who level up by defeating monsters and collecting treasure in a parody of role‑playing tropes. On a turn a player 'kicks down the door' to draw an encounter card, often battling a monster using their current level, equipment, classes and special cards; other players may intervene to help or sabotage. Victory grants treasure and levels, while losing triggers penalties and "bad stuff." Hands of treasure and modifier cards change combat outcomes and create chaotic, backstabbing interactions as everyone races to reach the target level first.
