Revive

Lead a tribe across a frozen, post-apocalyptic landscape 5,000 years after civilization’s collapse. Players explore hidden tiles, recruit citizen cards, and harness terrain resources to build factories and custom machines on a dual-layer player board. Each turn a player takes two actions from options like playing a card (with slot-dependent effects), exploring to reveal area tiles and recruit new citizens, populating ancient sites to relearn technologies, or building factories to advance machine tracks. Ancient sites and artifact locations are randomized and drive strategy; the game ends when all artifacts are claimed and the highest-scoring player wins. Supports 1–4 players with asymmetric powers, a five-part campaign that unlocks content, and high replayability without direct player conflict.

Tied with Federation for best game of 2023 (Spanish Edition). Amazing combos, deck building and map exploration plus engine building. Table hog, not very well thought to minimise table space. Gotta try the incoming expansion!

Do you love playing board games where it doesn't matter what others do? Here you go, a multiplayer solitaire game. You have dozens of possibilities which lead to AP for some players. And because you don't care what others do, you just sit there and wait for your turn. You have no control if others play correctly because it's too fiddly, here a resource there a resource, multiple tracks, multiple bonus stuff and so on. 100% abstract, the theme is not here. I prefer PC games over multiplayer solitaire board games. Here you are spending 2hrs+ in game and over 1hr is sitting there and doing nothing.

How many actions can I take on my turn — can I take two of the same action?

You may perform up to 2 actions on your turn (or choose to hibernate); those two actions can be the same action or two different actions. If you cannot or do not want to take at least one action, you must hibernate. (p.9)

How do I calculate range — which spaces do I count and can I go through unexplored tiles?

Range is counted from the chasm until you place your first piece, and thereafter from your nearest piece; you count only the spaces you go through (not origin or destination) and pay 1 food per space. You may count through occupied spaces but you may never count through unexplored (face‑down) area tiles. (p.11)

If I flip an area tile that becomes adjacent to buildings, who gets the adjacent rewards?

When you flip an area tile, any buildings already adjacent to the newly revealed spaces trigger their rewards for their owning players immediately. If multiple players unlock rewards (e.g., on machine tracks), take those rewards in player order starting with the active player. (p.11, p.13)

What happens when I hibernate — what about my energy and cards, and can I still activate machines?

When you hibernate you return all energy from machines to your energy storage, move resting cards to your active area, move played cards to your resting area, slide your switch token to unused, and advance your hibernation marker. You may spend any remaining energy to activate machines before you return energy, but once energy markers are moved back you cannot activate more machines that turn. (p.15, p.16)

When I populate a location other players already occupy, do I have to pay them?

Yes — you pay the technology cost in books for the population figure plus 1 book to each other player who already has a population figure on that location. The first time you populate you must use the bottommost figure and this unlocks that technology. (p.12)

How does the switch token action work — what does it give and when can I use it again?

Using your switch token slides it to the “used” position and immediately gives you one basic resource (not a crystal). It cannot be used again until it is moved back to the “unused” position (usually when you hibernate). (p.11)
